In loving Memory of
Shirley Fullerton
June 11, 1949 - June 1, 2003

Shirley was one of the smartest and most credentialed people you will ever
meet. Achieving her CCS, CCS-P, and CMBSI designations. With all of her smarts,
she never felt above helping others. She could always be counted on in a moments
notice. She was unanimously voted Director of Education for the Medical
Association of Billers.
A favorite word used to describe Our Shirley is "feisty". However,
when all is said and done, she was generally right! You Go Girl!
Just days before her passing all she could talk about was making sure her
students would be taken care of. She loved teaching and told many
wonderful stories about her students. Her classes will continue, she made
sure the information was conveyed to very qualified instructors.
She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

This section is for comments by those who knew and loved her. If you

| I have had the pleasure of knowing Shirley for over 10
years. She held many responsible positions including Office Manager at
physician offices, Business Office Manager at an ASC, and most recently
Director of Education for the Medical Association of Billers.
I have always believed that those who
are drawn close to us in this life are those whom we knew in past
incarnations. When a dear one passes on, if our love for them is
sincere, constant and steadfast; and if we pray deeply for them instead
of selfishly grieving for our loss, then our love draws them back to us,
so that they come within our orbit again in other realms and other
lives. I will see you again my dear friend.
I am honored to have been included in the small circle of friends who
were with her in her final moments. I will always remember her
kindness and generosity and will forever miss her warm and endearing
smile.

I am heart broken to hear
such disturbing news, but I am delighted that I actually got a chance to
meet such a knowledgeable and sweet person as Shirley in person prior to
her passing. God is good and I know she is in a better place!
My prayers & condolences go out to her husband and family.
God Bless,

I am very sad to hear about
Shirley, our hearts go out to her family. I can
only tell you that I am in shock right now and really feel speechless.
To
think that I won't be getting any more emails from Shirley is hard to
imagine. The Medical Billers Association has lost a wonderful instructor
who
will be missed by many. You put in your announcement that those
people who
met Shirley were lucky, and I know that you are right, but for me I
never
had that chance and often wished that I had a face to be able to put
with in
my emails. It would be nice for those of us who didn't have the pleasure
of
meeting her if we could be sent a picture through email to see who our
instructor was. Again, my thoughts and prayers go out to Shirley's
Family
and the Association. She will be missed.

I
have had the pleasure of knowing Shirley for 5 years, we would call
ourselves sisters. Shirley was the most knowledgeable person that I have
met. I also knew that I could depend on her she was tuff, dependable and
trustworthy. Shortly after Shirley passed I tried to figure out why as I
lied in my bed I said to myself I know why. She had helped so many
people and touched so many lives on earth, her job here was complete.
GOD has a much better mission for her that no one else could but her GOD
knew that he could depend on her and she would definitely make sure the
job was done right. I will certainly miss her.
Love her sister

It was with deep regret we
received the recent news about Shirley Fullerton's sudden passing.
She was so full of life, and for us in the insurance and coding
publishing world Shirley was a wonderful resource as a subject matter
expert. Her knowledge of the field was admirable, as was her
willingness to provide that knowledge to others. Ever the master
instructor, Shirley is featured in Chapter 5 of our best selling
textbook Step-by-Step Medical Coding, 3rd Edition, by Carol Buck, where
she generously shared with students her thoughts on being a medical
coder and offering them advice "From The Trenches."
Shirley's spirit will live on for countless coding students across the
country from the pages of this text, and she will live on in the hearts
of those of us at Elsevier Publishing, who will miss her sage advice and
lighthearted, carefree spirit.

I just
recently learned of the loss of Shirley Fullerton. I was shocked and
am grieved to hear this. Although I never met Shirley in person, she
struck me as an extremely vital and energetic person who truly cared
about her profession and the education of others. I am sad that
I will not have the chance to meet her in person, but I know her
spirit lives on through the classes and knowledge she imparted to us
all. God bless her and her loved ones.

I've had the pleasure of working with
Shirley for the past 9 years. Shirley was full of energy!
She always had something to say about anything. She kept me
smiling with her stories. She loved to share good stories about
the past and present and I'll never forget the kind and inspiring words
she shared with me. My prayers go out to her family.
