Online Training

The materials needed for the online classes will be e-mailed to the student on Monday. Students must return the answers to the assignments at the end of the chapter to the instructor the following Sunday. The next lesson will not be sent to the student until the instructor receives the assignment for the previous lesson. Students must have access to CPT and ICD coding manuals for the coding classes.

There are four types of on-line classes available 

1. Introductory - Each class is 6 weeks long with a final exam during the 7^th week. There are six classes required to complete the Certified Medical Billing Specialist^® (CMBS) certification and each class is given twice a year. Classes do not have to be taken in order unless there is prior knowledge associated with the class. Each class is worth 12 CEUs.

If you already possess the knowledge to pass the final exam for any introductory online class you can test our rather than taking the class. Please contact our office for more information.

2. Dental – Each class is 6 weeks long with a final exam during the 7^th week. Each class is worth 12 CEUs.

3. Custom Assistant Mentor Program (CAMP) – Do you want to take the MAB online classes but need to take them on your schedule? No problem. CAMP allows the “camper” to take the online class over 4-weeks, rather than 6-weeks, at the time of their choosing. Once your registration is received you will be contacted to choose a start date. CAMP has been designed to pair an experienced medical biller or coder4 with a less experienced candidate. The CAMP councilor (mentor) will take the camper (mentoree) under their wing and assist them in achieving the next level of proficiency. Campers go to CAMP for 4-weeks and have daily email access to their councilor. If campers have specific questions or concerns the counselor will guide the camper in the desired direction. CAMP is customized to the camper’s needs. The cost of the 4-week Custom CAMP is only $409 for members and $459 for non-members. If the Camper is registering for a certification program membership in the MAB is required.

5. On line CMBSTM CEU program –

There's no reason to travel to obtain your 12 CEUs! The new CMBS^TM CEU Program will allow you earn 12 MAB CEUs in just 4-weeks from the comfort of your home or office. The program consists of the CMS 1500 form, CPT coding, ICD coding and Medicare.

Modules will be e-mailed to you each Monday and will consist of a brief history of the topic followed by exercises which must be completed and e-mailed back to your instructor in one week. Upon completion of the 4 modules you will receive your 12 CEUs.
